why we come together

Every two years, the Ethereum community gathers at Devcon to collaborate and build toward a more holistic, trustworthy, democratic, and decentralized future. Devcon isn’t about hype or speculation. This is about creating a freer and more open society where technology enhances human potential and is consistent with our core values.

Over four days, developers, community leaders, and changemakers will break out of their silos and come together to share knowledge, align on Ethereum’s future direction, and learn from one another. After Devcon, we dispersed back into our distributed lives, but the momentum we created fuels us to keep building.

What to Expect at DevCon

Devcon is a large-scale event held in one location over four days in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 12 to 15, 2024. Devcon is different from before. DevConnectThis is the second event we are hosting.

that Devcon Weekly Schedule Introducing educational events before and after Devcon. To keep Devcon a key planning point, we do not list events taking place during Devcon and encourage organizers to plan around the main Devcon calendar.

  • d/acc discovery day: led Vitalik Buterin, Vincent Weiss And others explore in this session: d/acc (defensive accelerationism) vision And how we must focus on decentralization and defense technologies to create a resilient future.

  • MUD: Autonomous World and On-Chain Games: Hosted by 0xPARCand gridFor those interested in autonomous worlds, on-chain games, and other complex Ethereum applications.

  • Developing on Ethereum: BuildGuidl We provide hands-on sessions for both novice and advanced developers to build decentralized applications and write smart contracts. You’ll develop practical skills, receive mentorship, and network with other developers.

  • programmable encryption: 0xPARC And others will show how second-generation cryptographic primitives, such as zero-knowledge proofs, multi-party computation, and fully homomorphic encryption, lay the foundation for a more perfect Internet.

  • Official Verified Hangouts: Connect researchers and developers through informal discussions about the security and reliability of smart contracts and software systems.

If you want to organize and lead discussions at Devcon, the Discussion Corner is perfect for diving into Ethereum-related topics. Discussion corner time reservations will be open to everyone immediately before Devcon.

Community hubs are community-organized spaces where you can dive deeper into specific Ethereum-related topics and meet people working in a specific Ethereum-related field. Key community hubs include:

  • Account Abstraction Hub: We focused on improving user onboarding while remaining faithful to decentralization. Discuss how to advance the account abstraction ecosystem, from SDKs and wallets to protocol standards like ERC-4337.
  • adoption hub: A space where designers, researchers, and marketers can collaborate on web3 introduction strategies with a focus on improving UX and reliability.
  • Collective Intelligence Governance Hub: Leading DAO experts discuss challenges and innovations in DAO governance design, delegation, accountability, and funding, using collective intelligence to improve DAO governance.
