It’s always nice to hear about new grants being awarded. But what happens after the announcement? In this series, we’ll take a look at a few projects that are either well underway or have already reached the finish line. Read on to learn about our grantees’ recent milestones and achievements!
SSZ.dev: Technical specifications and resources for SSZ – SimpleSerialize
In preparation for the transition to proof-of-stake, Ethereum’s core developers have taken the opportunity to revamp some elements of the Ethereum protocol. This was the case with SSZ. Ssimple Saerialjie, the standard serialization format for Ethereum’s PoS consensus layer.
Serialization is the process of converting data into a format to be transmitted or stored. In the case of SSZ, the consensus data is converted into bytes merkle tree. SSZ is built for Ethereum but is designed to be extensible to other use cases. With this in mind, SSZ.dev SSZ was created to make it more accessible to developers both inside and outside the Ethereum ecosystem.
SSZ.dev received funding in March 2021. Released We continue to see growth in May. It’s full of great resources for anyone looking to learn or build SSZ. Some original and some collected from previous community activities. Some highlights:
- visualizer: Play with variables across different serialization types and see the output as serialized values and Merkle tree details.
- avatar: List of active SSZ implementations and base features (language, license, administrator, etc.)
- test: Consolidates test suites built by different implementers, along with general information such as terminology, output formats, and test configurations.
There is already a lot of good content, SSZ.dev It’s still a work in progress. Whether you’re a serializer or just interested in SSZ, we welcome your feedback and contributions! Visit Github repo You can comment or contribute.
White Edu for cadCAD Masterclass: Ethereum Validator Economics
The project called CadCAD is block scienceam open source Framework for Simulation complex adaptive dynamics (cad), bringing the benefits of Computer Aided Design (cad) is used for the design and verification of complex systems such as blockchain networks. White Edu Established to provide educational resources for using cadCAD in a systems engineering environment.
The first cadCAD Edu courses are a beginner-level bootcamp and a “cadCAD Hacks” series for intermediate users, focusing on learning how to use the cadCAD framework for modeling and simulation. With our first masterclass, the cadCAD EDU team wanted to enable students to level up their cadCAD skills through hands-on experience with Ethereum, the complex system we all know and love. Specifically, this course introduces: radCAD library Ethereum economic modelUsed by students to model and experiment with Ethereum validator economics.
Ethereum Validator Economics Masterclass after receiving funding in early 2021 Released Early September. The course includes approximately 3 hours of lectures along with Jupyter notebooks, exercises, and exams, and a certificate is provided upon completion of all course requirements. The course is Free for everyoneHowever, to get the most out of it, you need solid knowledge of Ethereum and cadCAD.
Meanwhile, the Ethereum economic model has taken on a life of its own. Designed for Masterclass in collaboration with EF. strong incentive group, but has evolved into a powerful and versatile research tool in its own right. that much repo It includes thorough documentation for researchers, engineers, stake holders, or anyone who wants to play with or build on the models. Alternatively, you can check out the front-end simulator here: ethmodel.io No skills required, you can see it in action.
