Former Spanish Football Federation President Luis Rubiales, who is currently accused of sexual assault, has launched an NFT collection to support ‘true equality’.
Former Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales, who resigned after being accused of sexual assault, is expected to launch a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) featuring his childhood images.
On the 16th, Rubiales posted a screen copy of a letter on X-Post saying that a Korean company called “The Moon Labs” “made a small mistake during the Women’s World Cup.” “To honor Luis Rubiales for his contribution to Spanish and world football,” the Korean startup created an NFT collection. The collection is now available on OpenSea, a digital collectibles marketplace.
“This could be a dangerous challenge for (us) as a company. But we are confident, we believe we are doing the right thing, and for this reason we have started.”

The so-called Rubiales NFT collection consists of 170 items, with creators earning 10% in royalties, according to OpenSea. According to the description, the NFT collection effectively depicts Luis Rubiales’ story by combining his “achievements as a professional athlete and his childhood experiences.”
Rubiales resigned from his position in September 2023 following a scandal in which he non-consensually kissed Spanish player Jenny Hermoso during the Women’s World Cup final. FIFA banned Rubiales from all football activities for three years in October 2023.
