At the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the urgent need to establish ethical boundaries in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI). His remarks highlight international concerns regarding the responsible development and use of AI technologies.

In his keynote address, Li Qiang emphasized the importance of ‘good governance’ in driving the evolution of AI and ensuring its positive contribution to humanity. He emphasized the importance of collective commitment to ethical standards and called for global cooperation to prevent AI from being misused for the benefit of narrow groups. The Prime Minister called for inclusiveness in AI development, highlighting its potential to help advance humanity rather than just a select few.

Li Qiang’s speech in Davos was not limited to AI ethics. He also spoke on a wider range of topics, including technological innovation, green development, and global economic cooperation. The Prime Minister emphasized the role of international cooperation in the field of science and technology, advocating a more open and non-discriminatory environment for technological development. He argued that this would help ensure that scientific and technological advancements benefit humanity as a whole, rather than becoming a tool to limit the development of other countries.

On green development and climate change, Premier Li Qiang called for stronger international cooperation. He pointed out that although there is a lot of talk about green progress, barriers still exist that impede the free flow of efficient green technologies and products. The Prime Minister called on countries to synergize their strategies and remove these barriers to accelerate the transition to a greener economy and society.

The importance of narrowing the development gap between North and South Korea was also mentioned in the speech. Li Qiang emphasized the need to implement the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, highlighting the challenges facing developing countries. He called for global cooperation in areas such as poverty alleviation, food security and industrialization to ensure mutual benefit and inclusiveness.

Premier Li’s remarks at the forum reflected China’s commitment to work with international partners in establishing a framework for responsible AI development, prioritizing the interests of developing countries, and reducing technology gaps between countries. He emphasized China’s role in fostering global cooperation in the field of AI and reiterated China’s commitment to maintaining ethical standards in AI development.
