Polygon Labs collaborated with Toposware to revolutionize the technology by introducing Type 1 Prover, which leverages zkEVM polygons. With this remarkable advancement in blockchain technology, any EVM chain can transition to the ZK L2 network and be integrated into the entire Polygon ecosystem through the Aggregation Layer without complex integration.

This discovery has the potential to revolutionize blockchain by lowering transaction fees, increasing transaction processing efficiency, and improving user experience across all chains developed by the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK).

The launch of the Type 1 zkEVM prover marks a huge step forward in blockchain development, especially since it allows generating zero-knowledge proofs for actual Ethereum mainnet blocks. This achievement contradicts previous records that raised concerns about whether large-scale confirmation of complete Ethereum blocks would be impossible or financially unfeasible.

With this breakthrough, it is now possible to prove up to hundreds of transactions within a single block for as little as $0.20 to $0.50, and with continued evolution and optimization, the price is likely to drop by around 30 to 50 times.

Polygon Labs and Toposware working together through a joint venture could lead to significant advancements in blockchain technology. This successful partnership is best demonstrated by creating a publicly available Type 1 proof. It’s also available on GitHub under the MIT and Apache 2.0 licenses, which shows your willingness to share it with others.

These efforts are consistent with Polygon Labs’ long-standing goal of pioneering zero-knowledge proof solutions. Their initial work led to Plonky2/Starky, the fastest proof system available today. Polygon zkEVMThis includes a proof system.

Adding the Type 1 zkEVM prover is an important step forward because it provides the most efficient ZK-EVM, allowing for fast proofing of layer 1 Ethereum blocks at a much lower cost.

According to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Type 1 ZK-EVM Prover focuses on compatibility with Ethereum. This allows proofs to be generated on chains that inherit the EVM without any changes. This level of conservation is useful for developers who want to maintain the integrity of the ecosystem while using zero-knowledge proofs, as it ensures that all Ethereum components of the execution process are conservatively maintained.

In addition to technological superiority, Type 1 provers are a critical component of Polygon Labs’ approach to scaling blockchains through aggregation. This unique technology addresses the disruption caused by blockchain scale while creating a homogeneous and connected multi-chain environment.

With the upgrade to Type 1 and Aggregation Layer, the underlying EVM chain can now be connected to the Polygon network, allowing Ethereum liquidity to flow without unwanted intrusion. This paves the way for a frictionless and seamlessly connected blockchain ecosystem.

The future of ZK technology looks promising, as Plonky3 and Type 1 Prover enhancements are among the innovations being pursued by Polygon Labs. These developments are not only a testament to Polygon Labs’ commitment to blockchain innovation, but also demonstrate how new opportunities for scalability, efficiency, and interoperability will dominate the future of Ethereum. This is why Ethereum continues to be the market leader in blockchain technology.
