Fairshake, a super political action committee that supports political leaders who support blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, received a total of $4.9 million in funding from Gemini co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
Bloomberg first reported the news, citing federal filings that showed the brothers each donated $2.45 million.
The filing also indicates that Fairshake had $72.8 million in cash at the time of reporting.
Winklevoss’ involvement with Fairshake was first announced on December 18, 2023. The twins have established themselves as funders including Andreessen Horowitz, ARK Invest, Circle, Ripple Labs, Coinbase, Payward, Electric Capital Partners, Blockchain Capital, and Jump Crypto. The super PAC has raised more than $85 million to date, making it one of the largest funders of cryptocurrency advocacy campaigns.
Fairshake’s most notable political acts to date include: Opposition to anti-cryptocurrency California Senate candidate Katie Porter.
The 2024 US election will be held in November this year.
