Ethereum declined this week despite recently hitting its highest price in more than two years. But the market lull didn’t stop someone from spending big on Wednesday. Cryptopunk NFTs were purchased with over $16 million worth of ETH.
Punk #7804, one of only 9 Alien Punks on Ethereum with influence NFT collection, Traded for 4,850 ETH $16.42 million at the time of sale Wednesday afternoon. This is the second largest CryptoPunks sale ever in terms of ETH and USD.
This sale comes just weeks after another Alien Punk (#3100) was sold for 4,500 ETH, worth $16.03 million at the time of trading on March 3. As with this purchase, the buyer of this latest Punk has not yet been revealed. Confirmed. Ethereum wallet The money used to make the purchase was initially funded through Coinbase on Wednesday.

“The end of an era. It’s been a long time since I felt like a fraud. By not promoting 7804 the way it deserves, you are holding punk and potentially the entire NFT hostage,” wrote pseudonym Peruggia. “After looking around for over a year, we believe we have found the right buyer with the right vision to properly enhance this asset.”
The highest CryptoPunks sale of all time occurred in February 2022. I bought another Alien Punk (#5822) 8,000 ETH, or $23.7 million.
Today’s purchase is currently my 5th purchase. Most expensive NFT sold always. This record is still held by Mike “Beeple” Winkleman. His digital artwork collage “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” made international headlines when it sold for $69.3 million at a Christie’s auction in March 2021, sparking an early craze for NFTs.
CryptoPunks, published by Larva Labs in 2017, helped set the standard for tokenized profile photos. Boring Monkey Yacht Club And countless other collections followed.
