Cardano (ADA) has received a lot of criticism over the years, including ADA’s price-performance ratio, the personality of its founder, and the community’s “slander” of Solana.
This time, the project’s marketing team made headlines after a viral video of a female Cardano user went viral on social media. The ‘Cardano Girls’ video sparked conversation about the project’s efforts to reach a wider audience.
A breath of fresh air in the community
The ‘Cardano Girls’ video was uploaded by content creator and Cardano user Lily Brodi and went viral within hours. The video replicates a popular social media trend in which people playfully list stereotypical practices of a group with the phrase “we are (group).” Of course we… ”
The trend, replicated by millions, including celebrities like Kim Kardashian, has reached the cryptocurrency community. Last week, a “Crypto Girls” version of the trend was uploaded to X, prompting Brodi to create her own trend.

Brodi’s version approached the perspective of a female Cardano investor, and the opening set a bright and cheerful tone. “We are Cardano girls. Of course we are real.”
Listed in the video, female ADA users include ‘How to treat yourself with the money you save on gas,’ ‘Set Charles as your phone wallpaper,’ and ‘How to buy $ADA while the men make all the drama.’ there is.
At the time of writing, this viral video has over 1.5 million views on X. The video’s massive reach earned recognition from Cardano’s founder, Charles Hoskinson, who is referred to as “cow dad” in the video.
Haha, my face is turning red. Thank you for all your support and love.

‘Cardano Girls’ and marketing team face criticism
Critics found the video ‘creepy’, while others expressed opinions that appeared to be based on misogyny. Cryptocurrency influencer Peter McCormack answered X’s post states that the footage will be used “as torture in Guantanamo Bay.”
However, the video appears to have been well received by Cardano and the cryptocurrency community. Brodi addressed the men’s detractors in the X post:
After the last 24 hours, I realized that many men have never felt the warm embrace of a woman.

Nonetheless, the video opened up a wider conversation despite its critics. On the one hand, it highlighted how the male-dominated cryptocurrency industry can be unaccommodating and aggressive towards women. On the other hand, it pointed out a major problem with Cardano: its “unattractiveness.”
The need for a new approach
Brodi discussed the huge impact of the video, which appears to have sparked general interest in the project, with people reaching out to her curious about the Cardano wallet. Despite the technology and knowledgeable people inside the community, the project doesn’t seem to attract the attention of the average user.
Brodi, who produces light and informative Cardano-related content, believes the general content provided can be “too heavy” and “overwhelming” for those who know something about the industry, and even more so for those who don’t but want to get in.

Cardano’s marketing issues, highlighted by Brodi, have often prevented potential users from entering. She suggests that wider adoption would require a change in market strategy “within Cardano.”
Lightweight, fun, and enjoyable educational content that is easy to consume can be the foundation for widespread adoption. Investors may be attracted to projects that are easy to understand and approach. As seen in Memecoin mania, projects can grow massively even if long-term technology and plans are not developed at launch.
The cryptocurrency community is undoubtedly full of people who enjoy a variety of content and projects. But enjoyment, which “brings lightness and fun,” is critical to supporting adoption. Because at its core, “that’s what our community is like.”
