I installed Bitcoin Core 26.1 on a Raspberry 5 (ARM architecture) running Ubuntu 23.1. When running bitcoin-qt I got an error saying the libxcb-xinerama0 library is required but not installed.
This can be easily fixed by installing from the repositories (libxcb-xinerama0 installed appropriately), but for security conscious people this is somewhat unsatisfactory. Is there any reason why this library is not packaged with the Bitcoin Core binary?
You end up having to go through the hassle of verifying and cross-checking all the signatures of the binary, and then installing untrusted third-party libraries to run the whole thing.
Thank you for your answer regarding this design choice and the safety of libxcb-xinerama0.
