The Aave V4 roadmap, which is in the advanced research stage, proposes several improvements to the Aave lending platform, including improved support for the native GHO stablecoin and reduced transaction fees, the protocol said in a post to its governance forum on Wednesday. The proposal also reveals the developers’ plans to automate the protocol’s loan interest rate calculations and parts of the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) governance process.
“Aave V4 represents a significant advancement in DeFi, designed to pioneer new frontiers of capital efficiency, risk management, and scalability.” Aave Labs said Wednesday
The release of Aave V4 is scheduled for mid-2025. The release of the upgrade forms part of a broader plan called Aave 2030, which aims to deliver an equally fundamental overhaul of the look and feel of the protocol by 2030.
The current version of the protocol, Aave V3, was launched on multiple networks two years ago and will be released on the Ethereum mainnet in early 2023.
