In a post about X, Vibhu Norby, CEO of Solana-based Drip Haus, painted a detailed picture of Solana’s recent journey through scalability issues and significant user growth. His analyze It highlights both obstacles and developments within the ecosystem.
Why Solana is in the best shape she’s ever been
Norby begins by explaining the significant increase in network activity that Solana experienced between December and April due to the memecoin craze. He describes this period as “exciting and challenging,” with the network reaching 160,000 daily active users (DAU) and onboarding more than half a million new users.
Despite the surge, Norby points out the downside to this rapid expansion. In other words, he points out that “there is a lot of influx of low-quality wallets” as an inevitable aspect of the growth phase of blockchain networks. The increased load led to severe network congestion starting March 2, escalating to the point where the blockchain “became unusable for us and almost everyone else” by the end of March.
Norby describes this period as “very sobering” for all developers involved with Solana’s decentralized applications (dApps), sparking a scramble to deploy solutions originally slated for later stages. “Strong growth and setbacks have forced us to quickly build and rush to market scale solutions that would normally take a year,” he explains.
Despite these challenges, the CEO’s tone shifted to optimism when discussing Solana’s current state. “Now we’re on the doorstep of the next phase. All the big puzzle pieces we ever imagined are right in front of us,” Norby said, marking a turning point for the network.
He reported that all key metrics have stabilized, with the network maintaining an impressive figure of around 100,000 DAU. He highlighted Solana’s continued dominance in the cryptocurrency and collectibles space, emphasizing its position as “the largest consumer product in the cryptocurrency and collectibles space.”
One of the most important changes Norby highlights is the improvement in product quality. He acknowledges the “remarkable growth” of what Drip Haus calls “p5 DAU.” This metric tracks your most engaged users who are using your product as intended. Norby says the group currently consists of 25,000 daily users, which he describes as a dedicated user base “dreaming about consumer apps.”
Mert Mumtaz, CEO of Solana-based Helius Labs, also recently celebrated Solana’s success in terms of DAU. that Advert“I’m generally opposed to DAU metrics for blockchains (especially ones with low fees), but *returning* DAU (meaning not a new address via Sybil) is useful to look at, and this is the highest number in Solana history. It’s the same.
As Norby talks about the near future, his enthusiasm grows. “I’m really excited to see how the next few months go. I will speak out loud about it and continue to tap into the vision. Only comfort.” This sentiment emphasizes our strong confidence in the continued growth and improvement of the Solana ecosystem.
At press time, SOL was trading at $137.5, up 10.5% in the last 24 hours.
