Following this integration, Yuga Labs and Nina Chanel expected to leverage the Super Punk World NFT project to blend the avant-garde NFT sector with classic art. Nine Abney, known for his fun work with Pharrell Williams’ GODA (Gallery of Digital Assets) and South Park animations, aimed to bring his own creative vision to CryptoPunks.
Unfortunately, Nina Abney’s “woke” work quickly attracted criticism and Yuga Labs halted development of the collection. The cryptocurrency and NFT community on X (formerly Twitter) has questioned its artistry, conceptual direction, and perspective on social issues related to racial and gender discourse.
