Argentina’s cryptocurrency movement plans to establish a blockchain valley in Buenos Aires as part of the Crecimiento movement, with 500 individuals participating.
The coterie consists of all prominent players within the national ecosystem. Some of these notable figures include Diego Guitérrez, who co-founded Bitcoin Layer 2 Rootstock. Marcelo Cavazzoli, CEO and co-founder of Lemon Cash, Latin America’s leading cryptocurrency purchasing app; and Elian Alvarez, general partner at Ripio Ventures.
Among other things, Crecimiento’s core team enjoys the support of advisors to the country’s new liberal president, Javier Milei.
The Crecimiento movement plans to establish a cryptocurrency hub and startups of technology-focused companies in the capital and offer them a three-dimensional plan. We plan to bring 5 to 10 million people on the chain by providing exclusive items, increasing tech startups in the country, and providing support wherever needed.
The group’s mission is to work with Argentina’s new cryptocurrency-friendly government to support the cryptocurrency sector through initiatives such as tax rebates, industrial investment, and regulatory simplification.
During the campaign, President Milei highlighted the advantages of Bitcoin and associated it with freedom. However, no official statement has been released regarding this matter. Nevertheless, the group has been actively working with relevant parties to establish a cryptocurrency center in Buenos Aires.
According to Web3 lawyer Maria Milagros Santamaria, regulators are expressing a high level of positivity toward Web3 and are requesting specific proposals on the topic of cryptocurrencies in order to proceed. In her view, the number of people who are truly opposed to this proposal is, fortunately, small.
