Many JasmyCoin investors seem to think that the project has partnered with Apple, which has led to a 20% rise in the token over the past 24 hours. But that’s overly optimistic news at best and most likely fake.

According to a Japanese government spokesperson, it appears to be true that Apple CEO Tim Cook has agreed to install Japan’s ‘My Number’ ID card feature on the iPhone. Through this integration, we plan to collect tax and social security data into a single identification card for Japanese citizens and foreign residents.

When this news broke, JasmyCoin investors took it to mean that cryptocurrency would be integrated into the iPhone as well. However, there are currently no confirmed reports from Apple, Japan, or JasmyCoin confirming this.

Neither Apple nor JasmyCoin immediately responded. decryptionThis is a request for your opinion.

JasmyCoin is an Ethereum ERC-20 token that focuses on privacy and data security. As a result, community members have long said this is a perfect match to support Japan’s digital ID project.

All of this comes from a 2023 press release from Japanese company Cyber Trust. In the release, the company explains that it is creating an “iTrust Identity Verification Service” that will use Jasmy’s blockchain. However, it is important to know the differences between the iTrust identity verification service and the Japanese government’s My Number initiative.

The My Number card serves as proof of the cardholder’s name, address, date of birth, and other sensitive information. It is used as an electronic certificate for identity verification.

Since May of last year, the My Number function has been available on Android devices through the ‘Myna Portal’ app. Cyber Trust’s technology works with the app to “provide the ability to perform identity verification,” according to a Cyber Trust blog post.

There are currently no reports that the iTrust identity verification service will be implemented natively on the iPhone.

If things remain the same, the MyNumber feature will be integrated into iPhone and users will be able to choose to use the iTrust identity verification service. The service then uses the Electronic Identification Certificate (JPKI) stored on your My Number card to virtually interact with this feature.

But the market doesn’t seem to care about these nuances. “It was literally announced by the Japanese Prime Minister, but I’m not sure how much more reliable it is than that,” a JasmyCoin fan posted on Reddit, referring to the iPhone’s My Number integration.

In the last 24 hours, the JASMY token is up 20%, and in the past week it is up a whopping 44%. According to CoinGecko, this puts the Ethereum ERC-20 token within touching distance of Pyth Network with a market capitalization of $1.46 million.
