World of Women (WoW), a pioneer in digital art and NFTs, has announced a strategic move to join the Tezos ecosystem. According to Tezos Spotlight, the collaboration aims to accelerate gender equality across the Web3 space and create new opportunities for women in the evolving digital economy.
Empowering women in the digital economy
Since its founding, WoW has been committed to building an inclusive future by addressing funding gaps and providing equitable access to resources. Tezos co-founder Kathleen Breitman emphasized that the transparent and decentralized nature of Tezos is critical to empowering women within the digital ecosystem. “WoW, built on Tezos, offers hope for a future where women are equally represented in a more diverse, inclusive and equitable digital environment,” she said.
Addressing the gender gap in Web3
The move comes at a time when women are underrepresented in the Web3 workforce. According to Boston Consulting Group, women make up 37% of cryptocurrency holders, but only 27% of Web3’s workforce and 13% of the startup’s founding team. WoW aims to bridge this gap by providing opportunities and support for women in the field. “WoW aims to unite the collective power of women across the Web3 and beyond and provide opportunities to further increase their influence at the forefront of arts, technology and culture,” said Shannon Snow, COO of World of Women. “He said.
Technical synergies with Tezos
WoW will leverage Tezos’ blockchain-based infrastructure to expand its reach. The organization plans to build on Etherlink, an EVM-compatible non-custodial layer 2 blockchain powered by Tezos Smart Rollups technology. This allows for cheap, reliable and fast transactions. Thomas Olivier, WoW’s CTO, highlighted the synergies between the two organizations, citing their shared origin story and vision in a male-dominated space. “Now we can combine the legacy of the WoW brand with the reliability of Tezos to build a new economy where women can support themselves and drive their aspirations,” he said.
future prospects
By joining the Tezos ecosystem, WoW will provide a platform for women to secure funding, peer-to-peer support, and access to a variety of opportunities. This partnership is seen as an important step toward achieving mass adoption of Web3 by ensuring women play a critical role in shaping an inclusive future.
