Martin Shkreli, known as “Pharma Bro,” claims he was involved in creating the Solana-based token DJT. DJT has been the subject of intense speculation following rumors that Donald Trump’s son was being “fronted.”
Speaking at X Spaces on June 18, Shkreli said he was “helping a friend” when he launched his token in April. He said that there were about 10 people who were directly involved in the creation, that 40 to 50 people knew about it, and that listeners chose President Trump’s son, Barron Trump, as one of them.
This space comes four hours after Arkham Intelligence offered a $150,000 reward to anyone who can identify DJT’s creator. Arkham posted the bounty in response to Shkreli accepting a $100 million bet with renowned cryptocurrency trader GCR on whether DJT tokens were “fake.”
“Damn, we play. “We are giving away $150,000 to the first person to definitively prove the identity of the founder of $DJT.” Arkham posted on X on June 18th.
“Look for hard evidence of the founder of $DJT. “We will accept private evidence for this reward, but if accepted the evidence will be made public,” the reward notice reads. High-profile blockchain detective ZachXBT was among those who sent in a submission, suggesting that Shkreli played a role in the decision to host X Spaces.
Bet is still on. Did Trump launch DJT?
Elsewhere on the internet, people continue to bet on whether the DJT token was launched by Trump or a member of his family.
Decentralized betting platform Polymarket shows that there are currently nearly $1.9 million worth of bets being made one way or the other on whether the DJT token is “real” or not.
Only 17% of all bets were placed in the ‘yes’ camp, with that figure dropping to 7% following Shkreli’s X Space.
