According to the GitHub blog, GitHub has been named a Leader in Gartner’s first Magic Quadrant for AI Code Assistants, highlighting GitHub’s significant work in the AI-powered software development space.
GitHub’s vision and achievements
GitHub Copilot, the company’s flagship AI code assistant, aims to enhance developers’ creativity by integrating generative AI into their workflows. With over 77,000 organizations and millions of developers using GitHub Copilot, the tool has made significant progress in increasing productivity and lowering the barrier to entry.
Gartner’s report evaluated 12 AI code assistant vendors based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision. GitHub was ranked highest for ability to execute and farthest to the right for completeness of vision. This recognition highlights the hard work of GitHub’s team, partners, and developer community.
