Telegram has unveiled new features in its latest update that enhance user experience and community engagement. According to Telegram, groups and channels can now use Telegram Stars as prizes. Additionally, any article opened in Telegram Browser can now be converted to Instant View for easier reading.
Star Prizes
Telegram’s new feature allows channel and group owners to host giveaways to promote their communities and reward members with prizes. These prizes can now include Telegram Stars, which winners can redeem for paid media, exclusive subscriptions, games, and mini-apps on the Telegram platform.
Prizes are prepaid, transparent, and customizable for the host. You can start them in Channel Settings > Statistics > Boost for Channels, or Group Info > Statistics > Boost for Groups. For bigger prizes at a lower cost, Telegram suggests using @PremiumBot.
Instant View for Telegram Browser
In 2016, Telegram launched the Instant View standard, optimizing articles for a fully formatted, zero-load experience. The latest update extends this feature to the Telegram app’s in-app browser, transforming all articles into a more readable, lightweight layout. Users can enable this feature by selecting “Show Instant View” from their browser menu.
These improvements are made possible by Mozilla’s open source libraries and will improve readability and user experience for Telegram users.
Reduced bugs and improved optimization
This update also focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements across Telegram’s mobile and desktop apps. The development team has been actively addressing issues reported by users through our dedicated bug platform and is open to feature requests on our suggestion platform.
Mini App Improvements
Mini apps have been given a number of bug fixes and new button options to make them more slick and responsive. Mini apps can now display two buttons at once, either side by side or stacked, and a new shimmer effect has been added to grab the user’s attention.
Developers can find more information in the latest Bot API updates.
10 million premium subscribers
Telegram has doubled its subscriber base to 10 million premium subscribers in less than eight months. This growth supports Telegram’s goal of prioritizing user privacy while generating sustainable revenue. The platform is grateful to its premium subscribers for enabling the continuous development of new features that enhance communication with its nearly one billion users.
