a16z Crypto Introduces CSX Fall 2024 Cohort with 21 Startups

a16z Crypto has revealed the 21 startups selected for its Crypto Startup Accelerator (CSX) Fall 2024 program, which kicks off this week in New York. According to a16z Crypto, this cohort will participate in an intensive eight-week program designed to provide first-hand learning from leading cryptocurrency founders, guidance from a16z’s investment and operations teams, and the opportunity to build connections within the broader a16z network.

Diverse global representation

The selected companies come from 11 countries: Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Japan, Poland, Portugal, UAE, UK, and USA (including Puerto Rico). These startups are working on a wide range of projects across the crypto stack, including: Artificial Intelligence (AI), decentralized finance (DeFi), infrastructure, and consumer applications such as photo sharing and map making.

The CSX Fall 2024 cohort includes:

• Anera Labs: Building a liquidity infrastructure that unifies all on-chain liquidity.
• Banyan: Using AI to bridge communication gaps and deliver clarity in the workplace enterprise.
• Blocksense: Create oracles that leverage Internet data and CPU/GPU computation.
• Cork Protocol: A risk pricing protocol that accelerates on-chain credit.
• Dot: Turn user-created pixel art into game pieces for on-chain games.
• Fermat: Building a universal zero-knowledge proof generation layer.
• Future Caveman: Creating a new home for your Internet photo friends.
• Cuzco: Marketplace for LLM Inference.
• MeshMap: Building a 3D map of the world and AR content network.
• Opacity Labs: Privately verifying web2 data using zkTLS.
• OpenGradient: Building a blockchain that aims to bring the world’s computing on-chain.
• PIN AI: Building an Open Platform for Personal AI (Data + Agent)
• Pod: A new L1 primitive that has no blocks or leaders and relaxes the notion of total transaction order.

Future plans

This is the second CSX cohort for 2024, following the spring program in London that concluded with Demo Day in June. The next CSX cohort will be held in San Francisco in spring 2025, with applications opening in early January. a16z CSX will invest a minimum of $500,000 in each accepted company, providing significant financial support to help these startups achieve product-market fit.
