DeStor Partners with DCENT for Distributed S3 Cloud Storage

DeStor, a prominent marketplace for decentralized storage solutions, has launched DeStor S3 Cloud Solutions, an enterprise-ready object storage service powered by DCENT. The collaboration aims to provide enterprises with a decentralized alternative to traditional storage, improving speed, efficiency, and security.

FIL Dev Summit returns to Bangkok.

FIL Dev Summit will be held at the Gaysorn Urban Resort in Bangkok from November 6-8. The event will bring together developers, builders, storage providers, and community members to discuss protocol improvements, new tools and features, and collaborate to overcome key challenges. Attendees can participate by submitting a talk proposal, sponsoring the event, or joining the conversation on Filecoin’s Slack and Twitter channels.

Spark improves data discoverability

Since May 2024, the FIL+ team has been advocating for FIL Spark’s search data to be included in datacap allocation decisions. This initiative has significantly improved the search success rates of Filecoin storage providers. As of September 2024, over 60 storage providers have achieved search success rates of over 90%, with some reaching 99.9%.

Filecoin Ecosystem Digest Released

The inaugural issue of the Filecoin Ecosystem Digest, titled “All Systems Go,” is now live. The Digest features seven editorial articles written by members of the Filecoin ecosystem, covering topics such as interplanetary resilience, AI-generated media, and sustainable data centers.

Learn distributed storage with learnyouw3up

Storacha introduces learnyouw3up, an interactive, hands-on way to learn about the decentralized storage ecosystem. The game challenges users to build, tear down, and master Storacha’s w3up service, making web3 storage accessible and engaging.

Filecoin and io.net Collaboration

The partnership between Filecoin and io.net has made significant progress over the past nine months, including onboarding 1,500 GPUs from Filecoin storage providers. The collaboration aims to create new revenue streams through GPU computing for AI and ML workloads and has been highlighted at major events such as FIL Dev Summit and FIL-Vegas in Singapore.

DocumentCloud protects public documents

DocumentCloud, a platform used by newsrooms around the world, is now leveraging Filecoin to ensure long-term preservation and distribution of over 11 million critical public interest documents. The initiative, supported by the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, aims to protect these documents from threats to public access.

Upcoming Events

FIL Singapore on September 20th will feature a convergence of Web3, AI, and industry innovators hosted by MetaPals and supported by the Filecoin Foundation. Additionally, FIL Bangkok’s mainstage event on November 11th will explore decentralized AI infrastructure, DePIN, and the data economy.
