According to Sui Blog, Sui Bridge has officially launched on mainnet, establishing native connectivity between Ethereum and Sui. This development marks an important milestone in Web3 interoperability by facilitating seamless asset transfer between the two major ecosystems.
Sui Bridge aims to break down barriers in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector by allowing assets and data to move freely across different networks. By leveraging Sui’s unique object-oriented architecture and programmable transaction blocks, the bridge improves interoperability within the ecosystem.
Shui Bridge Assets
Currently, Sui Bridge supports ETH and WETH transfers between Ethereum and Sui. This focused approach ensures a reliable and secure user experience. Users should note that ETH transferred via Sui Bridge is different from ETH transferred via other bridges such as Wormhole. To simplify the user experience, Sui’s applications are updated to accurately reflect these different asset versions.
In the coming weeks, liquidity from the WETH-USDC pool will begin migrating to the ETH-USDC pool, further consolidating the asset within the Sui ecosystem. Future updates will expand support for additional assets and features.
How to use Shui Bridge
Transferring tokens using the Sui Bridge web interface is simple.
- Visit the Sui Bridge web interface.
- Connect both your Ethereum and Sui wallets. Alternatively, you can enter the destination address manually.
- Select a token, enter the amount and confirm the transaction. The interface may require a token grant grant.
- After confirming the transaction, you will be redirected to a page that displays the transaction details. Ethereum to Sui transfers typically take about 10 minutes to complete.
Once Ethereum is done, the bridged tokens are usually sent directly to the recipient address in Sui. However, in some cases, you may need to manually claim ownership.
Looking into the future
The launch of Sui Bridge on mainnet is just the beginning of Sui’s broader vision for interoperability. Future updates will introduce additional asset support and unique features to accommodate a wider range of use cases.
Stay tuned for further updates as Sui continues to improve its interoperability solutions by building on Sui Bridge.
