The Filecoin (FIL) community has launched FIL-RetroPGF-2, a grant initiative to recognize and reward influential contributions to the Filecoin ecosystem, Filecoin said.
From April 2024 to September 2024, projects with significant impact will have the opportunity to gain visibility, receive feedback, and receive funding. This round progresses through several key stages designed to help projects demonstrate value and gain community support.
Key Stages of FIL-RetroPGF Round 2
Step 1: Project Showcase
Dates: September 30, 2024 – October 14, 2024
This phase provides a platform for projects to highlight their impact on the Filecoin ecosystem. Participants can receive feedback from the organizing team, giving them the opportunity to improve before the formal intake process. Projects can submit GitHub comments in the FIL-RetroPGF Round 2 thread with details such as project name, category, brief description, URL, etc.
We encourage you to share your project on social media using the hashtags #filretropgf and #filecoin to engage with the community and maximize visibility.
Step 2: Submit application
Dates: October 14, 2024 – November 4, 2024
After the project showcase, projects submit a detailed intake form that helps badge holders evaluate the impact of their project. This submission must clearly describe contribution and impact within the designated consideration period.
Step 3: Evaluate and vote on badge holders
Dates: November 11, 2024 – November 25, 2024
At this stage, badge holders will review all submitted projects to assess their overall impact on the Filecoin ecosystem. Based on this assessment, funding is allocated to each project.
Step 4: Vote Counting, Funding Allocation and Distribution
Expected start date: December 2024
Organizing committees tally badge holders’ votes and allocate funds to projects accordingly. The project will begin receiving funds allocated through DRIP in December.
Why should you participate?
This round of RetroPGF provides an important opportunity for teams and individuals working on Filecoin-related projects to receive support and recognition for their contributions. Participants will receive valuable feedback that can help guide future development efforts and raise awareness of the project.
Whether you participate in Filecoin directly or support the ecosystem through tools, services, or research, this is your opportunity to gain recognition and funding. Follow the #filretropgf hashtag on Twitter for community engagement and project showcases.
