Google has announced a significant update to its AI-powered tool, NotebookLM, introducing personalized audio outlines and unveiling a new business-oriented version. According to blog.google, these developments aim to improve user experience and expand the applicability of the tool to organizations.
Custom Audio Overview
The latest feature allows users to customize their audio overview within their laptop. Users can customize it by creating new notebooks, adding sources, generating automatic audio outlines, or providing specific instructions to the AI host. This feature is designed to provide personalized discussion rather than comprehensive analysis, reflecting uploaded sources and user instructions.
NotebookLM Business Introduction
To serve larger businesses, Google has introduced NotebookLM Business, set to integrate with Google Workspace. This version promises improved features tailored to businesses, universities, and other organizations, with a focus on data privacy and security. Organizations interested in early access can apply for the NotebookLM Business pilot program, which provides exclusive features, training, and support.
The introduction of NotebookLM Business comes as more than 80,000 organizations are already leveraging the tool. Google plans to reveal more details about the general availability and pricing of this version later this year. Until then, organizations can continue to utilize the free version of NotebookLM.
These updates highlight Google’s commitment to evolving AI tools to meet diverse user needs, from individual customization to organizational scalability.
