The potential for NFTs to take over the Web3 mainstream has been given a huge boost by over 100 million coffee cups branded with colorful, family-friendly artwork from the Doodles IP starting to appear in McDonald’s across the United States.
Some users have been frustrated so far trying to find the branded cups, which launched on November 18, but McDonald’s has promised they will be in stock at all 14,000 stores by November 21.
The Doodles IP will also sit alongside popular McDonald’s character IP such as Hamburglar and Grimace through a range of activities including limited edition enamel pins, merchandise, digital apparel and more.
Since the announcement, the original Doodles NFT collection’s lowest price has more than doubled from 1.25 ETH to over 2.85 ETH (as of November 18), with Doodle #3954 selling for 42.690 ETH ($132,951) on November 17. The doodle collection also achieved the highest weekly sales in more than 10 months.
Like most collections introduced at the height of NFT mania, Doodles, which originally launched in October 2021, has suffered from the brutal NFT bear market, but there is a resurgence of optimism for the project, which has continued to move forward. scene.
Doodles has already shown its ability to garner collaborations with Crocs and Pharrell, but McDonald’s is its biggest player at the moment. Its significance has been likened to Walmart’s partnership with Pudgy Penguins, which began in September 2023 with the plush toys infiltrating Walmart stores across the United States.
Doodles CEO Julian Holguin said this collaboration validates the NFT project.
“This collaboration shows that Web3 native brands can create meaningful cultural moments at scale. “There are approximately 110 million cups in 14,000 McDonald’s restaurants across the United States,” says Holguin.
“We’re not just painting art on cups, we’re creating a blueprint for how the Web3 brand can reach mainstream audiences. Every purchase potentially returns to our on-chain platform, introducing people to digital collecting through something as ubiquitous as their morning coffee.”
How does it work?
For U.S.-based customers, when you order a hot beverage from McCafe through the McDonald’s app, you’ll receive your order in one of our exclusive Doodles cups.
Each cup also serves as a ticket to stream Doodleverse, Doodles’ animated pilot featuring the music and voices of Dullsville and Lil Wayne, Pharrell Williams, Lil Yachty and more. there is Plus, if you sign up for Doodles Studio for free, you can get limited edition McDonald’s apparel for your Doodles avatar.
ThereThere are also Doodles-themed music videos, including a collaboration between Pharrell Williams and Marley Bleu, coming to the streaming service on November 22nd.
Pharrell has been with Doodles since mid-2022 and was the architect behind Justin Timberlake’s “I’m Lovin’ It” song, which became the anthem of McDonald’s commercials around the world in 2003.
Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s chief marketing officer, said the fast-food giant is partnering with Doodles because “Doodles is driving change in the cultural landscape, and beyond digital assets, as an entertainment brand itself, we’re creating brave communities we want to interact with.” “Because I have it,” he explains. More importantly, it brings more people across the country,” Hassan said.
McDonald’s Times Square billboard in New York City will light up the Doodles collaboration front and center for millions of people to see throughout the holiday season.
Holguin said everyone seems very interested in mainstream collaborations.
“The feedback has been amazing. We are receiving support from our community, as well as the wider Web3 space, in a way we have never seen before. Old colleagues, common friends, etc. that I haven’t seen in a long time are all connected to this work. Because in many ways it feels authentic and relatable,” says Holguin.

What is the industry reaction?
This collaboration is considered the Web3 brand’s largest mainstream partnership to date.
Zeneca (Zen Academy)
“This is without a doubt one of the most important collaborations in NFT history. Despite all the talk about bringing NFT IP into the mainstream, few projects can deliver on that promise. “The partnership between Doodles and McDonald’s will make Doodles a household name around the world.”
Betty (Deadfellas)
“The Doodles said: said.
“This demonstrates the continued power of community in our industry and the importance of that power when pitted against well-known household names. I love Doodles. But it doesn’t matter whether you’re a fan of Doodles or McDonald’s. People will see the brand at least 100 million times during this campaign. This is a win for all of us as we build in earnest on Web3.”
Steve Kaczynski (author of The Everything Token)
“Regardless of the campaign details, partnering with McDonald’s would have been a huge win for Doodles. But they succeeded in creating a home run with three key ingredients: “We expand brand awareness by introducing Doodles to countless new audiences through 100 million coffee cups and billboards in Times Square,” he said.
“We bring non-Web3 users to Stoodio, the core of the Doodles ecosystem. Finally, reward and celebrate brand loyalty by incorporating doodles from community members throughout the campaign. Overall, this is a well-executed strategy for growing our brand and connecting our community.”

Rauol Pal went completely bananas after purchasing XCOPY’s ‘Last Selfie’ through a private sale. If the original public listing price was 333 ETH, it would never have been cheap.
Rauol said about XCOPY:
“I love XCOPY’s work and for me he is the most important NFT digital artist along with Beeple. The reason is that culture has tremendous value over time, and NFTs allow culture to be recorded on a chain forever. XCOPY is the culture of cryptocurrency + the Internet and will forever serve as a time capsule for this early cultural moment.”
“More than anything, I love art. “XCOPY pioneered a whole new form of art that resonated deeply with me,” he said.
We also saw a move of over 20% in the last 7 days with Bored Ape Yacht Club moving to a bottom of 13.4 ETH, Pudgy Penguins rising back above 12 ETH and Milady up to 5.9 ETH including the highest USD individual sale and 3rd place. . -Based on ETH, it is the highest at 27.3.
