Hyundai Motor Group is partnering with NVIDIA to enhance mobility solutions through advanced AI and digital twin technologies. The collaboration was announced at the CES trade show in Las Vegas, highlighting Hyundai’s commitment to smart mobility innovation.
Advanced AI Initiatives
The partnership aims to integrate NVIDIA’s accelerated computing, generative AI, digital twin, and physical AI technologies into Hyundai’s mobility products. The automotive giant plans to integrate these technologies into a variety of products, including software-defined vehicles, robotics, and optimized manufacturing processes.
Kim Heung-soo, head of Hyundai Motor Group’s Global Strategy Department, emphasized the transformative potential of AI in fields such as robotics, autonomous driving, and smart factory operation. This collaboration is expected to further accelerate Hyundai Motor Company’s AI-based mobility innovation.
Simulation and digital twins in manufacturing
Hyundai will leverage the NVIDIA Omniverse platform running on NVIDIA OVX systems to create a digital thread across existing software tools. This enables accurate product design and prototyping in a digital twin environment, improving engineering efficiency and reducing costs.
Additionally, Hyundai Motor Company and NVIDIA plan to develop a simulation environment for autonomous driving systems to safely test autonomous driving technology under various conditions. These simulations help validate autonomous driving applications and contribute to the safe deployment of autonomous vehicles (AVs).
Digital twins will also be adopted to optimize Hyundai Motor Company’s manufacturing lines to improve production quality and streamline costs. The company plans to use NVIDIA Isaac Sim to build and train industrial robots to improve the safety and efficiency of factory operations.
Integrating robotics and AI
NVIDIA’s AI tools and libraries will support Hyundai’s advancement of robotic intelligence and facilitate industrial robot training in a virtual environment. This optimizes manufacturing processes and improves the interaction between robots and the real environment.
The partnership between Hyundai Motor Company and NVIDIA highlights their shared vision to create safer, more intelligent vehicles and improve manufacturing through cutting-edge robotics. This cooperation was formalized at the CES signing ceremony.
