The scope of this round includes, but is not limited to, projects in the fields of economics and game theory, applied and theoretical cryptography, consensus algorithms, protocol design, networking and peer-to-peer technologies, client engineering, security, formal verification, and humanities. Who can apply?
This call is open to academic researchers, educators, and thinkers from institutions, universities, research centers, and think tanks with insights or suggestions that resonate with the vision of Ethereum. We encourage submissions from individuals or teams interested in exploring possibilities within the Ethereum protocol.
Application Requirements
- Proposal Deadline: Proposals must be submitted by 23:59 (AoE) on March 16, 2025. Please be sure to submit your application. here.
- project type: Projects must produce formal academic research, and research output must be publicly accessible through free and permissive licenses.
- target audience: Applications are open to individual researchers, research centers, universities, think tanks, educators, and other stakeholders with an academic background interested in Ethereum research.
- submission format: Proposals must be written in English in PDF format and must include a detailed project description, budget, schedule, applicant profile, and links to relevant public works or repositories. here This is the template for the proposal.
- funding decisions: Applicants will be notified of their funding decision within six weeks of the closing date.
