The Hong Kong currency authorities warn the public in a phishing fraud associated with immediate messages connected to communication banks. It is recommended that users do not share personal data through these messages.





HKMA (Hong Kong Monetary Authority) has published a critical warning to the public about phishing fraud, including Communications Bank of Communications Co., Ltd., an immediate message of LTD. According to the Hong Kong monetary authorities.

Fishing threats have been confirmed

Phishing scam sends instant messages that seem to originate from legitimate banking institutions, targeting individuals who are increasingly doubtful. HKMA emphasizes that these messages are designed to provide the recipient to provide sensitive personal information such as login credentials or one -time password (OTP).

HKMA’s advice

HKMA strongly advises the public that banks, including the Bank of Communications, will not send email or SMS messages along with the embedded hyperlinks that instruct users to carry out their transactions on the bank website. In addition, banks do not request personal information such as passwords or OTPs via telephone, email or SMS.

Actions for individuals affected

Through these fraud messages, individuals who have shared personal information by mistake or transaction must immediately contact the bank for the official contact details provided in the bank press release. In addition, they must reach out to the 2860 5012 Crime Wing Information Center and report this case in Hong Kong police.
