NVIDIA’s VGPU 18.0 release supports Microsoft Windows Server 2025 and Proxmox VE by improving AI features on virtual platforms and introduces new AI toolkits for developers.

NVIDIA unveiled the VGPU (Virtual GPU) 18.0 technology and has greatly developed AI functions within the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). According to NVIDIA, this release aims to improve productivity, security and performance by utilizing the AI -centered workload in a virtualized environment.

Improvement of support for Microsoft Windows and Proxmox VE

One of the main features of the VGPU 18.0 update is support for Microsoft Windows Server 2025. This integration allows users to use advanced management functions such as GPU partitioning and live migration to make it easier to manage and maintain workloads and maintain efficiently without interfering with virtual machines. In addition, the update supports the Windows sub system for Linux (WSL), enabling the perfect operation of the Linux distribution with Windows.

The release also includes support for ProxMox VE, an open source server management platform. With this addition to the NVIDIA VGPU Support hypervisor, users can use software definition GPU resources to manage demanding Linux and Windows application workloads. DAIRE BYRNE, the global system officer of DNEG, praised the smooth integration of NVIDIA VGPU and Proxmox VE, emphasizing the ability to efficiently manage GPU usage and support computing -intensive workloads.

New AI toolkit and industry collaboration

NVIDIA also introduced a new AI virtual workstation (VWS) toolkit with the goal of accelerating AI development through VDI. With the latest additional LLMS toolkit, micro -adjustment and custom definition, developers can use parameters, such as LOW RANK Adaptation (LOW RANK Adaption), to attach customized adapters to a single large language model (LLM).

The company has partnered with Citrix to provide AI virtual workstations so that industries such as medical, financial services and governments can expand their AI -centric business goals. This collaboration enhances the function of the Citrix -based virtualized environment, ensuring centralized data management and security while executing the AI workload.

Wider GPU compatibility and upcoming improvement

The VGPU 18.0 release also expands heterogeneous VGPU support, allowing a single GPU to handle multiple VGPU profiles at the same time with a variety of frame buffers. This feature is now expanded to NVIDIA TURING and Volta GPU, optimizing GPU usage rate over the acceleration computing of multiple generations.

In the future, NVIDIA announced the upcoming support for the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPU, which is expected in late 2025. The GPU, released in NVIDIA GTC 2025, promised to create a variety of solutions for data centers by dynamically dividing resources for various workloads from AI to AI.

Overall, NVIDIA’s VGPU 18.0 release is set to improve AI function and support a wide range of platforms and applications to convert a virtualized environment. Business and developers are recommended to explore these new features to maximize the potential of accelerated computing.
