The X account of Lucy Powell, a British lawmaker and chairman of the House of Representatives, was hacked to promote fraudulent encryption tokens.
In a series of deleted posts on April 15, POWELL’s X account shared a link to the token called HOC (House of Commons Coin) and explained that it was “community drive digital currency.”

An employee of a POWELL employee was hacked by an account in the BBC and “quickly stepped up to get rid of posts that secured and mislead accounts.”
DEX Screener has limited investors’ interest in HOC TOKEN, achieving the highest market cap of more than $ 24,000 shortly after the post on the POWELL account.
The total tokens saw a total of 736 transactions and trading volume of $ 71,000.
POWELL has not promoted cryptocurrency before, but I have never heard of political figures supporting real encryption tokens.
US President Donald Trump and US President Melanie A Trump fired and promoted a memo coin a few days before entering the White House, and criticized the president’s political competitors and even some supporters.
Javier Melei, Argentina, also promoted a token called Libra, causing a rapidly falling value, causing political scandals in Argentina and demanding an investigation into Mele’s participation.
POWELL’s account hacking follows a similar attack on Ghana.
In March, President John Mahama’s X accounts had a similar violation, and the attackers acquired their account for 48 hours to promote a fraudulent cryptocurrency called Solanafrica.

The frauders made a similar encryption promotion post with the 2.4 million followers of Mahama, and the fraud project said, “With the support of Solana and Ghana Bank, we are paying quickly and free from the continent.”
The president’s team regained Mach’s X account control two days later. His spokesman, Kwakye OFOSU, said that the AFP account is “completely restored, and the public urges to ignore the suspicious cryptocurrency posts from the steering wheel.”
