Velorus Eastern European countries are expected to launch CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) by next year.
Cite a statement from Roman Golovchenko, the chairman of the National Bank of Korea, Belta, a state -run telecommunications agency, reported that the digital form of Belarusi Ruble will be completely distributed until the second half of 2026.
Golovchenko says that business entity at that time can use CBDC, a digital form of national currency issued and supported by Central Bank. This plan is to allow both state and individuals to use digital debris by 2027.
He said the central bank should identify digital rubles, create software and develop regulatory frameworks.
“Digital rubles are in the realm of our priorities. We are actively trying to create. We are facing safety issues of funds. It is very important to track how digital money passes through the entire chain.”
Golovchenko says that digital currency has a promising solution for border settlements, and Belarusi is already working closely with Russia in the process of creating its own CBDC.
“We are already studying joint action plans to use these tools at mutual settlements.”
