The Securities and Exchange Commission will host a roundtable meeting on May 12 to discuss the role of tokenization in the financial market.
According to the release of the SEC, the event titled “Tokenization -Moving Assets Onchain: Tradfi and Defi meets” is “Tokenization -Moving Assets Onchain: Tradfi and Defi” It runs until 5:30 pm and is also available with webcast live according to the release of the SEC.
The Roundtable, led by the Hester Peirce Commissioner, will showcase panelists such as Blackrock, Fidelity, Nasdaq, and Robinhood.
The topic includes the evolution of the capital market through tokenized assets and regulatory considerations for future use.

Blockchain meets finance
The agenda includes two sessions: “Capital Markets 2.0” adjusted by Cravath’s Jeff Dinwoodie and “The Future of Tokenization” led by Tiffany Smith of Wilmerhale.
Legal scholars, encryption company executives and asset managers will discuss how the blockchain can be integrated with traditional finance depending on the current SEC framework.
The SEC also announced the change of the round table for the upcoming middle oxide finances. The “Defi and the American Spirit” discussion, originally set up on June 6, is now on June 9th. Pre -registration is valid.
The round table occurs as the participation between the regulatory agency and the encryption industry increases.
At a separate meeting, OnDo Finance, a tokenization platform, proposed a proposal to SEC’s encryption asset working group to request a relief mechanism to summarize and support regulatory frameworks for tokenized US securities.
