Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has announced warnings about the fraud website and Internet banking login screen related to the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC). According to HKMA’s press release, this warning aims to protect the public from potential fraud.

The warning emphasizes the fake website and login screen reported in HKMA. Authorities emphasize that legitimate banks will not send SMS or emails that contain hyperlinks that guide customers to a website. It also does not request sensitive personal information such as login password or one -time password via telephone, email or SMS.

HKMA advises an individual who shares personal information on a fraudulent website or login screen or uses official contact details to an individual who has a financial transaction. It is also a good idea to contact Hong Kong police by contacting the 2860 5012 of the Crime Wing Information Center.
