Eigenlayer announced that it has launched a redistribution function in HOLESKY, SEPOLIA and HOODI TESTNETS along with the Mainnet release plan by July. This development aims to improve fund management.
According to Eigenlayer, Eigenlayer has now released the redistribution function operated by Holesky, Sepolia and Hoodi Testnet. Through this development, the Alternative Verification Service (AVS) allows users to use and distribute slash funds without burning alternative validation inspection services (AVSS), expanding the application of slash mechanisms within the EigenLayer protocol.
Redistribution functions promote use cases such as loan and insurance protocols, introducing new dimensions to slashes. By enabling the redistribution of funds when the promise is broken or the condition is changed, this function compensates for or reliable operators to compensate for or trusted parties to cross the traditional ‘slash and burn’ approach.
Timing and process
As of June 5, the redistribution function will be broadcast live on the test net and the main net is expected to be released in late June or July. This timeline provides the opportunity to adjust the system to AVSS and effectively use the new features when distributing the main net.
How to start
AVSS is recommended to create a redistribution operator in the test net to explore new slashes and redistributions. This operator set features a modified slash flow that contains redistribution reception fields. However, redistribution participation is an option for both AVSS and operators, and must create a new operator set for participation.
Main notification
- Opt in function: Redistribution is entirely opt in AVSS and operator. AVSS must set a new operator set to enable redistribution, and the operator must choose to assign them to these sets.
- Asset Compatibility: This release supports redistribution of non -ETH assets such as LST, Eigen, USDC and AVS tokens, while primitive ET is not yet qualified.
- Operator set: When creating the operator set, you need to set the redistribution function. Existing sets cannot be retroactively modified to include redistribution.
The main net will soon come
Eigenlayer is doing its best to improve the protocol function as the core is completed. The focus changes to expanding the service possibilities through verified promises. The team promises a standard for starting the service by intercepting continuous updates, templates and chains.
As the main net launch approaches, AVSS soon activates redistribution and begins to organize the operator, promising the deformation step for fund management within the Eigenlayer ecosystem.
