It became the blockchain’s highest gas consumer on Friday and caused a brief surge in Gwei.

According to Ethereum blockchain explorer Etherscan, the project, called Buterin Cards, has used 13.1% of total gas units over the past three hours as of 3 PM ET to reveal Uniswap universal router addresses and Tether’s public domain. It ranked higher than the address. . This collection resulted in transaction fees of 318.31 ETH, worth $665,670, over the last 24 hours.

After the surge, gas usage lagged behind Uniswap.

What is the Buterin Card?

The Buterin Card Project aims to upload 2,015 NFTs paying tribute to Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain. The project uses an NFT creation process called JPEG mining that stores image data on chain, unlike typical NFTs that only store metadata on chain.

“To prevent miners from uploading arbitrary data, the smart contract calculates a hash to verify the accuracy of the data. Thanks to progressive JPEG technology, NFT images are gradually revealed as they are mined,” the project website states. It’s with me.

“In return for their work, miners receive cards with Vitalik Buterin’s image of varying levels of quality,” he added.
