Zama Announces Partnership with Elliptic to Support Compliance Reviews for Confidential Financial Applications
Zama announced a partnership with Elliptic to integrate blockchain intelligence capabilities into Zama’s confidential financial applications. This collaboration supports compliance screening processes while maintaining the confidentiality of Zama technology for applications built on public blockchains.
Zama, the fastest-growing confidential protocol for on-chain finance, announces a partnership with Elliptic, a global leader in blockchain intelligence, to provide trusted blockchain intelligence for the confidential financial applications Zama brings to market.
As financial institutions move beyond experimentation and toward real-world blockchain adoption, they need an infrastructure that combines financial confidentiality with the compliance controls expected in a regulated market. Zama believes that these requirements are complementary, not competing, and that compliant, confidential financing will be a fundamental building block for institutional adoption.
As a first step in the collaboration, Elliptic will support wallet risk screening for confidential vaults provided by Zama, while maintaining the confidentiality guarantees that are fundamental to Zama’s technology. The implementation demonstrates how a financial application that is confidential by design can be compliant without exposing encrypted balances, transaction amounts, or other sensitive financial information.
Unlike many approaches to privacy in blockchain, Zama is built on the expectation that confidentiality and responsible risk management should evolve together. Protecting sensitive financial information should not compromise illegal activity. From the beginning, Zama has built powerful compliance controls into its products to help institutions adopt confidential finance with confidence.
Zama chose Elliptic because its blockchain intelligence is already trusted across the digital asset ecosystem and aligns with the compliance expectations of the financial institutions that Zama is building.
Elliptic supports more than 700 institutions worldwide and analyzes more than $90 million in digital asset activity every day.
“Institutional introduction depends on trust” said Rand Hindi, CEO and co-founder of Zama. “Financial institutions should not have to choose between protecting sensitive financial information and meeting compliance obligations. Confidential financing must deliver both. Collaborating with Elliptic is an important step toward making compliant confidential financing a reality for institutions building on public blockchains.”
“For institutions to move real-world financial activities to public blockchains, confidentiality and compliance must work together rather than against each other. Zama is building confidential finance within compliance from the ground up, and we’re happy to support this by screening wallets for risk before a transaction goes through. “This is a model of how confidential finance can meet the standards expected by regulated markets.” said Jackson Hull, CTO and COO of Elliptic.
The implementation is designed around strict confidentiality boundaries. Elliptic performs KYT on addresses and does not ask end users for any other confidential information. This approach allows institutions to apply trusted compliance workflows while maintaining the confidentiality expected of a modern financial infrastructure.
As confidential finance matures, Zama will continue to work with leading infrastructure providers to help establish the technology, operating models and industry standards necessary for institutional adoption. This collaboration with Elliptic represents an important milestone in that journey.
