The AFRC proposal, or Aave Official Request for Comment, was written by the Aave Chan Initiative and passed with 662,000 ‘yes’ votes, indicating strong support from the community. Proposals will now go to AIP on-chain voting for final approval.

“Integration with zkSync will allow Aave to provide users with faster and cheaper transactions while maintaining the security and decentralization of the Ethereum mainnet,” the proposal reads. According to the proposal, deploying Aave on ZKsync would benefit by lowering transaction fees, increasing the market for Aave’s GHO stablecoin, and improving scalability and interoperability with other networks.
