Anichess, the groundbreaking chess-based strategy game, has launched an official alpha version in partnership with Yield Guild Games (YGG), Animoca Brands announced. The partnership aims to distribute the game across Southeast Asia, a key region for Anychess in terms of player registration.
Game features and modes
In alpha version, Anichess offers a unique blend of traditional chess and innovative spell mechanics to provide players with a compelling gaming experience. The game now includes four modes: Ranked Match, Quick Match, Friend Match, and Bot Match. Players can participate in player versus player (PvP) matches, train against AI opponents, and unlock new spells as they progress.
Strategic partnership with YGG
The collaboration with YGG will strengthen Anichess’s distribution and onboarding efforts in Southeast Asia targeting chess enthusiasts, gamers and students. A tournament showcasing the new PvP features is scheduled to begin in October, with the final event scheduled to take place in November at the YGG Play Summit in Manila, Philippines. The plan is part of a wider strategy to drive community engagement and build a strong gaming ecosystem in the region.
