AnyTopic, a pioneering online learning platform, has introduced an innovative feature that allows users to create custom mini audiobooks for free. According to the ElevenLabs blog, the new service is designed to fit seamlessly into users’ busy schedules, offering customized content ranging from 3 to 25 minutes in length.
How it works
AnyTopic users can enter a topic or question into the platform, and the platform will search for the best matching online content, including news, blogs, and existing podcasts. This material is converted into mini audiobooks tailored to your interests and learning pace. Bite-sized episodes are ideal for listening to on your commute or unwinding in the evening.
Select ElevenLabs
When AnyTopic was in the development phase, the team focused on finding cutting-edge solutions for speech generation. The goal was to create personalized audiobooks without relying on traditional voice actors. According to the team, they needed an AI voice generator that sounded non-robotic and engaging, similar to a good teacher. Low audio quality was not an option as it would prevent learners from continuing to view the content.
After discovering ElevenLabs, known for its human-like speech generation, AnyTopic was impressed by its quality and decided to integrate it into its app. The integration process went smoothly, allowing AnyTopic to easily integrate the ElevenLabs speech API into its audiobook creation pipeline. ElevenLabs’ real-time latency enables near-instantaneous audio content creation, allowing learners to study subjects without long wait times.
future prospects
The app is currently in beta phase, but shows great promise. AnyTopic co-founder and CEO Daniel Rascon expressed excitement about the future of personalized audio content. “ElevenLabs was instrumental in quickly realizing this vision at the level of quality we wanted. We are excited to create an even more engaging audio experience for our listeners,” said Rascon.
