“You’re still a frog in the well who knows nothing about the ocean” is one of the coolest lines we’ve heard in this year’s reveal trailer.

The next installment in the massive video game franchise Assassin’s Creed has been announced, set in ancient Japan. Players will see themselves controlling two contrasting characters with different fighting styles as their narratives collide.

With the game releasing before the end of the year, fans of the series (including us) will want to know everything about it. Do not worry. We’re here to help. Here’s everything we know so far about Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

(Note: While Ubisoft is doing a lot in the cryptocurrency gaming space, including Assassin’s Creed NFTs linked to physical figures, Assassin’s Creed Shadows appears to be a traditional “Web2” game with no blockchain elements.)

What is Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the 14th installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the most recent installment from 2023. Assassin’s Creed Mirage—Unless it contains a VR title. Assassin’s Creed Nexus.

Set in 16th century Japan, players will control two characters who adopt different gameplay styles. One focuses on combat and the other focuses on stealth.

When will Assassin’s Creed Shadows be released?

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on November 15, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Mac at the following prices: $70 for standard editionTwo special editions will also be released: the Gold Edition and the Ultimate Edition.

The Gold Edition gives you three days early access to the game and comes with a season pass for $110. Meanwhile, the $130 Ultimate Edition comes with additional character packs, skill points, and other in-game items.

Alternatively, you can download the game from day one for $18 per month through the subscription service Ubisoft+.

Who are the heroes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Assassin’s Creed Shadows puts players in control of the Japanese ninja Naoe and the historical samurai Yasuke.

with premature leak It has been revealed that the main character of the new Assassin’s Creed game will be black. Some keyboard warriors weren’t happy—Call Ubisoft woke up. However, Yasuke is a black person who actually existed in Japan in the 16th century. He has also appeared in previous games from other companies.

I believe it Yasuke is said to have come from Mozambique, Ethiopia, and Nigeria after being enslaved or trafficked as a child. He was later liberated and traveled from India to Japan, where he was employed as a warrior by missionaries in the area. He is often called: the first black samuraiHowever, there have been some contests where he has been awarded this title.

As for Naoe, she is a fictional 17-year-old Japanese shinobi and the daughter of Fujibayashi Nagato, one of the most iconic shinobi. she is explanation While Ubisoft describes him as “intense, compassionate, and determined,” Yasuke is a thoughtful and sensible person.

When and where is Assassin’s Creed Shadows set?

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set in the Azuchi Momoyama period of 16th century Japan. This era political unification It saw all of Japan’s provinces united under one central government. This was not a peaceful process.

Naoe lives in the Iga region, the home of the ninja, or ninja. In the late 1500s, a clan led by Oda Nobunaga attacked the Iga twice, and in the second attack the Iga was defeated.

Oda Nobunaga is one of them. Japan’s three major unification artists, a very powerful and controversial figure. Yasuke’s fluency in Japanese impressed Oda, and Oda asked Yasuke to stay with him. In the trailer, Naoe sees Yasuke in Iga’s flames.

Although the campaign follows some historical reports on Yasuke’s story, there are some holes in our knowledge of the character. Ubisoft also added a “what if?” moment of the story.

“Given the length of our game, unification is a really big issue.” Akim Milne, Assistant Director, Film Design, Ubisoft said in a youtube video.

What will the gameplay be like?

There is currently no gameplay video for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

In other words, the two characters have different play styles. Naoe, a shinobi, focuses on stealth, while Yasuke, a samurai, focuses on combat. Although both share some abilities, there is a clear advantage to sticking with what your character knows.

Aside from that, we’ll have to wait for the gameplay trailer to really understand how this game will play. But I think the broad strokes of the gameplay and world design will be familiar to what fans of the series already know and expect. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is scheduled to release on November 15th on all next-gen platforms.
