Former Coinbase executive Balaji Srinivasan believes President Trump should consider airdropping his newly launched official memecoin to his supporters.
Srinivasan told his 1.1 million followers on social media platform
But he also claims that the new TRUMP coin has an “alignment problem.”
“For context, the CEO of a company is usually one of the largest shareholders, but he works with all employees because they own the same shares. Ideally, all holders rise and fall as one.
To use an analogy, ideally the president would want to work with citizens to ensure that everyone holds American coins that give them some dividends from America’s profits. Similar to the Alaska Permanent Fund.
So one way to solve the alignment problem would be for Trump to airdrop some TRUMPs to all US citizens. But it might be easier for him to personally send out an email offering free TRUMP to all Trump supporters.
Specifically, he can give 72 hours notice and Democrats of all stripes will also sign up to his personal email list to receive airdrops.”
A former Coinbase executive said the TRUMP airdrop would represent “a new kind of social contract” between the president and American citizens.
TRUMP is trading at $34.98 at the time of this writing. The 30th-largest cryptocurrency asset by market capitalization has fallen more than 30% in the past 24 hours, but remains more than 434% above its launch price on Friday.
