Leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced support for the upcoming BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) network upgrade and hard fork. This move aims to ensure the best user experience for customers.
Maintenance Schedule
In preparation for this important upgrade, Binance will perform wallet maintenance on BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) starting from 07:00 (UTC) on July 9, 2024. As a result, deposits and withdrawals on BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) will be suspended starting from 06:55 (UTC) on the same day. The maintenance is expected to take approximately 2 hours.
Upgrade and Hard Fork Details
The actual network upgrade and hard fork is scheduled for July 14, 2024 at 06:00 (UTC). Binance will again suspend deposits and withdrawals of tokens on the BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) starting from approximately 05:55 (UTC) on July 14.
Impact on trading
Binance has assured users that token trading on the BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) will not be affected during the upgrade and hard fork. Binance will also manage all technical requirements involved to ensure a smooth transition for all users.
Service Resumption
Deposits and withdrawals for tokens on the BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) will resume once the upgraded network is deemed stable. Binance has stated that no further announcements will be made regarding the resumption of these services.
