Bitfinex announced the listing of NYM, a privacy-focused token from Nym Technologies that enhances online security through decentralized mixnet technology.
According to blog.bitfinex.com, Bitfinex, a prominent digital asset trading platform, announced the listing of NYM tokens, the native cryptocurrency of Nym Technologies. Nym Technologies is recognized for its innovative approach to enhancing online privacy through decentralized mixnet technology aimed at protecting network-level metadata.
The role of NYM tokens in privacy infrastructure
The NYM token plays a critical role within the Nym mixnet and Appchain, providing network access to users, facilitating transaction fee payments, and supporting privacy infrastructure. Mixnet technology is designed to route network traffic to make it untraceable even by global Internet surveillance systems.
Availability across multiple blockchain standards
NYM tokens are available in two formats: ERC-20 tokens and native tokens on the Cosmos blockchain. This dual availability allows users to participate in the Nym ecosystem and delegate tokens. Bitfinex will exclusively list NYM mainnet tokens on Cosmos, but customers can also deposit ERC-20 variants and convert them to mainnet tokens using Bitfinex’s currency conversion tool for trading purposes.
Trading and Market Dynamics
NYM deposits are scheduled to open at 12:00 PM UTC on October 8, 2024, and trading is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM on October 10, 2024, subject to liquidity conditions. NYM tokens are tradable against US dollars (NYM/USD) and Tether tokens (NYM/USDt), expanding trading options for Bitfinex users.
