Road Town, British Virgin Islands – October 31, 2023 – Bitfinex (https://www.bitfinex.com/), a cutting-edge digital asset trading platform, announced a new collaboration with Torogoz Dev to mark the 15th anniversary of the publication of the Bitcoin white paper. is an educational program based in El Salvador that focuses on providing technical training in Bitcoin and Lightning Network development.

Following El Salvador’s landmark decision to declare Bitcoin a legal tender in 2021, there is significant demand for educational resources and training to increase understanding of how to use and build on Bitcoin in El Salvador. Torogoz Dev’s mission is to fill the gap in demand for Bitcoin technical knowledge and provide students with the opportunity to contribute value to Bitcoin and Lightning development.

Torogoz Dev is currently offering intensive courses for students who have completed the initial learning stages, including training in Bitcoin and Lightning programming. This intensive course, called Fellowship, is offered to selected students in the initial stages of Torogoz Dev training. It is geared toward ensuring Bitcoin adoption in El Salvador by educating students to provide solutions that match their interests and address local needs. Students will run Bitcoin and Lightning nodes, develop an internal network of nodes, open channels, and learn about node management and networks.

They will be working with Cherito Cafe, a Bitcoin-friendly agribusiness in El Salvador that wants to integrate Bitcoin as a payment solution. Students begin by identifying business needs and progress through creating user stories, creating a product backlog, grouping stories by epic, defining acceptance criteria, and identifying dependencies. The project structure and code development are published on Github.

Students will also learn about applying programming logic to manage cloud services and make payments over the Lightning Network. You’ll also learn how to document APIs and security practices that apply to Lightning, microservices, and systems related to APIs. We also create a variety of plugins to integrate with content management systems such as WooCommerce or WordPress.

Bitfinex aims to accelerate financial and technology literacy and inclusion by sponsoring events such as the Adopting Bitcoin conference and partnering with pioneering organizations adopting decentralized technologies. Through these educational initiatives, Bitfinex creates a ripple effect of positive change, empowering individuals to understand and leverage the benefits of Bitcoin and blockchain technology.

Bitfinex is serving as the lead co-organizer of the 2023 Bitcoin Adoption Conference with Galoy for the second year in a row. Scheduled for November 7-9, the event will be held in San Salvador and Bitcoin Beach and will advocate for Bitcoin, the Lightning Network, and financial independence.
