October 3 Bitfinex Securities and Mikro Kapital Forge form a strategic collaboration to provide security tokens to microfinance.
Astana, Kazakhstan, October 2, 2023 – Bitfinex Securities Ltd, a provider of security token listing and trading services, is pleased to announce a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mikro Kapital, a Luxembourg-based impact finance and microfinance group.
The MOU explores projects that tokenize, list and trade debt securities and evaluates the use of USD-backed Tether tokens (USDt) and Euro-backed Tether tokens (EURt) for capital raising and microfinance.
Mikro Kapital has 300,000 borrowers across 14 countries and a highly diversified loan book with a total value of approximately €1.35 billion. Approximately 40% of borrowers are women, mostly entrepreneurs in service and agricultural businesses in local, rural communities.
The MOU provides an opportunity to explore how tokenized low-friction, low-volatility digital assets can support greater investment in microfinance opportunities.
