As the Solana meme coin continues to dominate the bull market, traders are moving into a new niche: cat-themed tokens.
The meme coin market capitalization rose 9% today, reaching nearly $70 billion. In this segment, the market capitalization of the Solana meme coin has now increased by more than 20% to over $8 billion.
However, the top rising tokens in the meme coin market today are not the most popular tokens such as DOGE, SHIB, BONK, or even WIF, which has hit an all-time high. Instead, it is a new category of cat-themed tokens.
One of the newest Solana-based cat meme tokens, Cat in a Dogs World (MEW), is up 110% today since its launch earlier this week. In just 48 hours after trading, the token reached a market capitalization of $200 million.
Look on chain Some early traders made millions with MEW and started trading from as low as 30 SOL. One trader turned a $6,000 investment into $530,000 in a matter of hours. The hype around MEW seems to be shifting interest as meme coin enthusiasts are constantly looking for the next promising pre-sale in the bull market.
As interest in meme coins grows, Solana’s market performance improves. The altcoin is up nearly 70% in March.
