CELESTIA has released Lotus, the V4 Mainnet upgrade, to strengthen the basic TIA interoperability and inflation reduction, network security and staying incentives.
CELESTIA promises to start an upgrade of the V4 Mainnet, known as Lotus, and introduce significant improvements in interoperability and economic policy. As described in detail in Celestia’s recent announcement, the upgrade integrates Hyperlane into a cosmos SDK module to enable direct TIA interoperability for other chains such as the Celestia rollup and Ethereum mainnet and Arbitrum.
The main function of the lotus upgrade
Lotus upgrades are Celestia’s central development, which focuses on technology and economy improvement. By integrating Hyperlane, Celestia aims to expand the network connection and allow smooth interactions in over 100 networks. This movement is especially advantageous for new rollups and can access a wide range of blockchain ecosystems.
The upgrade also introduces some changes in Celestia’s inflation and staying mechanism. According to the provided details, the CIP-29 reduces the inflation schedule by 33%, balances inflation reduction, and maintains competitive staying rewards. This adjustment is part of a wider strategy to ensure economic sustainability while securing a network through an attractive staying incentive.
Staying and reward management
Additional changes include CIP-30 and CIP-31, which improves the management of the stage King rewards. The CIP-30 removes the essential claims of the staying compensation, giving users more flexibility to import management. These changes can provide better tax results to users in various jurisdictions.
The CIP-31 integrates the stay compensation in the investment account schedule so that the compensation can be observed in the existing lock period. This measurement is designed to maintain network security by preventing early transmission of staying compensation and encouraging token locks.
Hyperline integration
The integration of the hyperrey specified in CIP-32 is an important step to improve the interoperability of Celestia. Open source and no authority hyperlane is adjusted to support new rollups with a powerful network connection. The addition of the two new SDK modules ‘X/Core’ and ‘X/WARP’ will facilitate token transmission, limiting non -natural tokens at first.
As part of a security framework, the protocol uses a multisig interchain secure module (ISM) for the Cross-Chain Communication with the potential upgrade to the ZK-based ISM that uses the Celestia POS effective set.
The Lotus upgrade is already activated in Arabica Testnet and is expected to be deployed soon in Mocha Testnet, which is expected to launch Mainnet in June. Detailed guidelines for upgrades are instructed for stakeholders to refer to the official Celestia document.
This strategic upgrade reflects Celestia’s promise to strengthen the blockchain infrastructure, ensuring technology development and economic stability in the ecosystem.
