Chainlink Labs revealed winners in six categories focused on solving specific tasks in the Web3 ecosystem.
In a blog announcement on December 20, developers of the Chainlink decentralized oracle network revealed that they had awarded a $25,000 major prize to Unwallet.me, a seed- and gas-free multi-chain cryptocurrency wallet.
The product utilizes a so-called account abstraction mechanism to create seedless wallets, allowing them to connect to various blockchain networks with a single domain name. Unwallet.me supports cryptocurrencies on various fiat-denominated distributed ledgers with the help of Chainlink Price Feeds oracles.
“Constellation was our best and most successful hackathon to date, both in terms of quality and quantity.”
This is Harry Papacharissiou, Developer Support Manager at Chainlink Labs.
In the “DeFi and Payments” category, Chainlink awarded a $15,000 first prize to Azurance, an on-chain insurance marketplace that allows developers to build or use custom insurance contracts.
Another $15,000 went to XTF, a decentralized cross-chain ETF platform in the “Crosschain Solutions” category, for a solution that would allow users to return exchange-traded fund (ETF) tokens and redeem real-world assets stored in their vaults. In total, Chainlink Labs distributed over $500,000 to approximately 40 participants.
The next Constellation hackathon is scheduled for spring 2024, but an exact date is not yet available. The Constellation hackathon, which launched in October, focuses on projects that leverage at least one Chainlink service to “change the state of the blockchain.” However, as Chainlink Labs highlights, it is important to note that simply reading data from a Chainlink data feed does not qualify as a valid submission for Chainlink core products.
