New evidence has revealed that ‘crypto queen’ Ruja Ignatova may have been murdered by a Bulgarian drug lord.

Ignatova scammed investors out of $4.5 billion (£3.54 billion) after promising gullible victims high returns if they invested in her fake cryptocurrency, OneCoin.

one coin scam

“Crypto Queen” Ruja Ignatova is the only woman on the FBI’s wanted list for a $4.5 billion cryptocurrency fraud. Now a BBC investigative team has revealed new evidence about the fraudster’s alleged murder and uncovered links to organized crime. Ignatova tricked millions of her gullible users into investing in her own scam, then ran away with her funds. The scam received a great deal of media attention, and key figures involved in the scheme were arrested.

The most recent arrest was William Moro, who pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit bank fraud in connection with the OneCoin scam.

“US officials arrested William Morro on bank fraud charges alleging he moved $35 million in connection with the #OneCoin crypto scheme in 2016. In or about 2016, defendant William Morro and others known and unknown in the Southern District of New York and elsewhere knowingly and knowingly conspired, conspired, and conspired to commit a crime against the United States, namely, bank fraud. , We mutually agreed.”

The fate of Ruza Ignatova

Ignatova enlisted the help of Hristoforos Nikos Amanatidis, also known as Taki, who aided and protected her during her escape. Hristoforos Nikos Amanatidis is also a fearsome Bulgarian drug lord and mafioso who has been linked to several armed robberies and murders. Taki reportedly received €100,000 per month for Ignatova’s protection. About drug lords, former Bulgarian Deputy Minister Ivan Hristanov said:

“When we talk about Taki, he is the leader of the Bulgarian mafia. He is very powerful. “Taki is a ghost. You will never see him. You only hear about it. He is talking to you through other people. If you don’t listen, you’ll just disappear from the face of the earth. “The only person who could protect her (Ignatova) from all investigations, including those of foreign agencies, was Taki.”

Taki is reportedly living in Dubai in one of Ignatova’s luxury penthouses.

Protector turned into aggressor.

Bulgarian investigative journalist Dimitar Stoyanov broke the news of Ignatova’s murder after coming across a police report found in the home of the murdered Bulgarian police officer. The documents revealed details about Taki’s brother-in-law, who a police informant overheard drunkenly talking about Ignatova being murdered on Taki’s orders in late 2018. According to the document, Ignatova’s body was dismembered and dumped in the Ionian Sea. Stoyanov says that’s very likely.

Bulgarian officials have also confirmed the authenticity of the documents, and several of Taki’s associates believe her murder theory is true. According to colleagues, Ms. Ignatova was responsible and Taki wanted to eliminate any links to the OneCoin scam.
