Today we (the Devcon organizing team) are excited to unveil new ways to participate in next year’s event and to make Devcon an experience that is more representative of Ethereum as a whole.

Devcon Improvement Proposal (DIP) A new tool that includes collaborative community input from across the ecosystem. This aims to improve the Devcon experience by formalizing a process for your ideas to be heard and incorporated into the event.

Why now?

In a previous post, we covered how we can do more to represent the entire Ethereum ecosystem at Devcon. However, doing so in certain events has become increasingly difficult over the years. In many ways, this is a welcome problem. Because this challenge is due to the growth in size and diversity among creators, presenters, attendees, organizations, and everyone involved.

There was a time when the classroom was easy to fit into for everyone involved, but in many ways, it’s been a long time since there was a point where demand exceeded supply (e.g. in ticket numbers, talk slots or dogfooded applications).

So while we have taken the first steps to address certain areas that have been difficult in the past, In a launch post from earlier this year:, we were proactive in thinking about ways to take into account things that no team thought they could include on their own. And that brought us here.

How does DIP work?

Let’s take a closer look. The best way to get started with DIP is to visit: DIP github repository and Join a new conversation Devcon Forum.

As a first step, we encourage you to post your ideas on the Devcon forums to receive feedback from the wider community. Once the situation is clearer, you can submit a formal proposal. From the time of submission, you’ll receive feedback from our team and others to help refine your idea and discuss how it can be applied to the program.

This process is inspired by the PEP, BIP, and EIP processes, and although this new experiment is a bit more centralized (proposal approval ultimately rests with the Devcon team), we have new ways to expand and expand. I’m glad. We hope to find consensus on many of the new ideas proposed. DIP’s goal is to improve our events by ensuring everyone is heard, having more open discussions, and (most importantly) listening and learning from the innovators around us.

What does DIP look like?

If this process sounds a bit abstract so far and you’re wondering what a DIP actually looks like, you’re in luck! The DIP was just released today, but the Devcon team has been working with several teams in recent weeks to pilot the first proposals.

Some of our first suggestions include: Making Devcon Carbon Neutralactivate Hotel and flight bookings through the FOSS decentralized travel marketplacepreparing Unauthorized treasure huntand provides attendees with: smart wallet card in conference.

finish

We recognize that the Ethereum ecosystem has grown too large for our team alone to recognize all the great ideas. With your amazing continued participation and DIP’s help, we can make Devcon more representative of our community than ever before.

Anyone can check the detailed information. dip-0Look at DIPs that have already been submitted, court Participate in new and ongoing discussions. We’d love to hear from you!
