Everyone,
With less than three months left until Devcon, we’re moving full speed ahead toward Osaka!
We’ll be hearing more details and details about the first program in the coming days. Since tickets are on sale now, we thought it was time for a more official update!
First, the second ticket reservation is tentatively scheduled to take place on August 6th. We’ve learned and patched a lot since the last round. We used a new open source ticketing platform this year, and while the platform itself worked great, everything wasn’t quite right when configuring it for our first production run. With larger online quotas and improved payment processes, Wave 2 hopes to ensure everyone experiences a seamless purchasing process.
This year, tickets have been changed to be limited to two per order instead of one. So while we expect Devcon to sell out, there are tickets available online just in time to reserve a space for a colleague, friend or family member.
Next, you’re lucky if you come up with a bright idea for a Devcon talk the day after submissions close.
Applications reopened today and will be available on Devcon.org for one week, July 29 through August 4. This applies to builders, presenters of any kind (breakout, workshop or presenter) and students. Scholarship applications are fully closed.
For presenters, this second window was planned with you in mind. We know the pace at which developments can occur in the Ethereum ecosystem, and we didn’t want to miss out on our latest discoveries!
Lastly, all Devcon apps are being reviewed on a rolling basis. The application process is designed to be fair and thorough. Each application is reviewed by at least two people before the core Devcon planning team makes a final decision. We think it’s really important to have a system in place to ensure there’s no single reviewer deciding the fate of your application. And this takes time.
Although not all applicants will be notified immediately, a decision will be received by mid-August to ensure that everyone, including those applying during the late application period (July 29 – August 4), has been notified prior to final ticketing . Waves (if you need to participate in a wave to attend Devcon) So if you’ve already submitted a talk proposal, you don’t need to take any further action.
summary: Wave 2 is tentatively scheduled to take place on August 6th. The Speaker, Builder, and Student Support pages are displayed. devcon.org From July 29th to August 4th. After that they are gone and will never come back!
Every day we get a little closer to Osaka, and we look forward to welcoming many of our Ethereum family back together. Good luck with all your applications and ticketing, and we hope to see you there.
